Google Places Listings: In Google Maps, there is roughtly 50 million ‘Places’ listings that are represented by business, restaurants, entertainment destinations, etc. What they do is allow you (and the business owner) to post images and review of the business in question, and find it on mobile maps. Only about 1 million of those places listings have been claimed and most businesses don’t even know they exist… This represents a huge opportunity for you to go in and teach them how to use the feature!

Mobile Devices: The current wave of mobile phones and other mobile devices like the iPad and Android Tablets offer some pretty incredible advancements in terms of local search. Now, people are connected enough to do a lot of research before stepping foot into a restaurant and they’re able to do lookups about whatever they like on the fly. This is a huge opportunity for small businesses because some of the smaller niches and industries are too specific for the larger businesses to compete!
