Billy Corgan played some really nice guitar parts in 1979, incorporating melody with open string root notes creating a hypnotic and flowing guitar sound. 1979 is a good song to play by everyone except a total beginner. The guitar parts can stand on their own even without the vocals. This is one of Smashing Pumpkins biggest hits and for good reason!!
